What does it mean when you are addicted to someone else's addiction? I know many of you are aware of my sweet stamping friend Jody Morrow and her world famous Ribbon Shares/Sales. I've been buying ribbon from Jody for quite some time now and I didn't realize how much I had - until. . . .
Let's just say there was a little accident with the closet pole that used to hold all my ribbon. As I mentioned in my blog last week, I am in the middle of spring cleaning. There is just so much to organize - ribbon, stamps, paper. . .the room is a mess! I decided it was time to "SEE" everything. . .after all, if you can't see it, you don't know you have it and therefore you won't use it! My ribbon from Jody was hanging from a closet pole to keep it from wrinkling, but there was no order to it - it was all just piled up - one strand on top of another. You couldn't see the color or style. . .completely unacceptable! When I went to pull some of the strands to start the organizing process. . .well, KABOOM!
There it lies. . . in the bottom of my stamping studio closet floor. . .
Can you believe I have this much ribbon? I just can't resist Jody's ribbon. . .If her ribbon share venture ever becomes publicly traded I'll be a majority share holder for sure! LOL!
I'll show you after pics just as soon as "after" occurs. . .

Oh my goodness! LOL Mine USED to look like that, but I stand firmly in my decision to separate my ribbon by color! It is SO much easier to find what I need and what will match what I am stamping. I rolled my individual pieces of ribbon and placed them in bags (craft or baggie type) and then tossed each color in one of those plastic storage bins. Now, if I need green, I go open the green drawer and I can rifle through it without messing up any of the ribbon since it's all in bags (or MOST of it is in bags anyway). LOVE the system!
Good luck with your organization. I know how overwhelming it can be!
