Good morning stamping friends! It's the start of a new year and the first guest designer contest for My Favorite Things! What better way could there be to start off the new year than to be chosen to join Kim and her amazingly talented group of designers? I couldn't find a reason not to try! So here goes!
First, we started with a designated sketch. . .
And here's my creation. . .
Don't you just L-O-V-E it? I had the idea in my head to make something using the wonderful Die-namics! I went back and forth between the Jumbo Snowflake and the Layered Heart. I mean, it's still winter and there is still snow, so that certainly justified the snowflake. But don't you kinda feel sorry for the snowflake? Poor thing gets caught up in all the hubub of Christmas and most snowflakes are taken down with the tree, including those that were in my house.
So, alas, I chose the heart - or should I say heartS! I cut seven of those babies, put each one through the embossing folder, scor-paled 'em down the middle, glued them together and antiqued the edges. I hope they understand and appreciate all the work in put into this project!
Here's a close up. . .
Now the heart may be beautiful and all, but the sentiment truly makes the card. Don't you agree?
It's from the Clearly Sentimental about Romance Collection. One thing I can say for sure, if I am leaving this aforementioned labor intensive heart with anyone, they better darn sure care for it!
Well, wish me luck! I know there will be hundreds of amazing and wonderful creations out there in MFT land! And, even if I don't win, I will still always "heart" My Favorite Things!
