Sketch for You To Try - Batty for You!

Hey there! Hi there! Ho there!  Or should I say "Boo There!"  It's hard to believe that October is next month and you know what that means - candy corn, pumpkins, ghosts, goblins and bats!  Speaking of bats. . .check out the latest stamp set from Reverse Confetti - Spooky Sentiments. . .

This set is so spooky fun!  So many options!  I used this month's Sketch for You To Try from Reverse Confetti as well. . .

I flipped the sketch on its side and here's what I came up with. . . .

I used the Apothecary Emporium pattern paper collection from Echo Park.  What a great set of Halloween papers!  I cut the bat using dies from Spellbinders and the mini pillow bats came from my LSS.  I really love the way this turned out!  Simple color palette, not a lot of layers = fun and easy card! 

Whimsy & Stars Studio New Release - September 2013 - Pumpkin & Sunflower Teddy

Good morning!  While I am sure that fall must be on the way - it's been hotter than a two dollar pistol around these parts lately.  I am ready for a cool down!  Fall is my favorite time of year - because the arrival of the season brings most of my favorite things:

1) My DD's birthday

2) My DH's birthday

3) MY birthday

4) Football season

5) Sweater weather

6) Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks

7) Halloween

8) Thanksgiving

9) Changing leaves

10) Sitting outside with my outdoor heater going. . .ahhhhhh

With all that being said, it's easy to see why this month's release from Whimsy & Stars Studio is my FAV!  Take a look and you will see what I mean. . .

This precious little guy is Pumpkin & Sunflower Teddy and he can be found HERE!  I decided the pumpkin he was sitting on was not enough, so I created a pumpkin shaped card. . .take a look!

I printed Pumpkin & Sunflower Teddy on white card stock and then colored him in with Copic markers.  I printed him a second time to have an extra sunflower to create the 3-D image. . .

I borrowed the perfect sentiment from My Favorite Things - Sweetest Pumpkin in The Patch Stamp Set.  I can't wait to use this little guy again - I already have him printed for another project!

Whimsy & Stars Studio New Release - August 2013 - Ribbon Days

Good morning friends!  Today the Whimsy & Stars Studio Design Team is showcasing another wonderful release for the month of August!  We are thrilled to be showing you TWO new images which I am certain you will want for your digi collection.  Introducing. . .Ribbon Boy and Ribbon Girl!

These images are so amazingly versatile and each of us has a "ribbon" in our life. . .think cancer research, autism, diabetes and Alzheimer's disease, not to mention our deployed soldiers.  Since I am the sister of an active duty soldier, I chose to go with the Yellow Ribbon today. . .

I must admit getting a little teary-eyed when I put this card together.  It brought back memories of my brother being deployed in Afghanistan.  Here is a close-up of the ribbon. . .

Whimsy & Stars Studio New Release - August 2013 - Penelope

I always get so excited about the new releases from Whimsy & Stars Studio and this month is certainly no exception!  We are going to have a total of THREE new images during August and you won't want to miss them!  They are MUST HAVE'S! 

Today we are showcasing our sweet girl named "Penelope". . .

Isn't she just the cutest?  I LOVE her!  Such a versatile image - birthday, celebration, congratulations, etc.  I chose to make an all occasion card - take a look. . .

I loved the open spaces on this image which allowed for paper piecing. . .here's a close-up. . .

And, I borrowed a sentiment from My Favorite Things Bunches of Birthday Wishes, which can be found here.  I also used the Make A Wish Balloon Dies from Taylored Expressions.

A Deconstructed Hello!

Good morning friends!  Wow! We had quite a storm blow through here last night. . .we lost many branches as well as a full tree in our backyard.  After a dark and stormy night, we need a bright sunshiney day - and why not a card to match?

I started with the Deconstructed Sketch #110 from Jen Shults. . .

And here's my version. . .

I used the Lead The Way Die-Namics from MFT and created a background on the white cardstock card and used the Scalloped Square Spellbinders to create the center square and the four small squares.  I stamped one of the arrow "tails" as well as the sentiment from the Arrows 'n Elements stamp set from Reverse Confetti.  I switched up the center strip panel and placed it as the sentiment on the bottom corner. 

This card just brightens my day!  Hope it brightens yours as well!

Whimsy & Stars Studio New Release - July 2013 - Sweet Arrival

Good morning friends!  Today I am sharing with you with the second of the new releases from Whimsy & Stars Studio!  It's called "Sweet Arrival" and this image is perfect to welcome my brother and sister-in-law's baby #4! 

And here is the card for our precious Isabella Victoria. . .

This image is super friendly for all stages of stampers and artists - you can really color it in detail, or you can keep it simple!  (Which is what I chose this go around).  I printed "Sweet Arrival" on white cardstock and colored it with copics.  I created the shaker using tiny safety pins in pink and white and the pattern paper is from Nana's Nursery Collection by DCWV.  I can't wait to get this in the mail to the new baby!

The Whole Box of Crayons!

If you have been under a rock lately and are not aware of "Stamping Diva" Jen del Muro's new company Reverse Confetti, you are totally missing out!  Very fresh, fun and versatile stamps await you!  I had been itching to use a set from her first release - Dream In Color - and the latest Deconstructed Sketch by yet another "Stamping Diva" named Jen, was the perfect place for it! 

First, the sketch. . .

And here's the result. . .

Now in addition to using Dream in Color, I also used a brand new release from Reverse Confetti - Whole Lotta Dots.  I stamped the large polka dot set in matching ink to each of the chosen cardstock colors to create my own pattern paper.  I used the Chevron Stripes Die-Namics from My Favorite Things to cut the strips.  Here's a close-up. . .

I really LOVE both of these stamp sets and I also LOVE how the card turned out!  Hope you do too!  Thanks for stopping by!

Ice Cream & Cake & Cake!

It's been very lonely around my house the past two weeks.  My DD is off at summer camp and I am missing her like crazy.  Her camp is awesome and I must admit, I am a little jealous of all the fun she is having!  There is a tradition at her camp where all the campers sing this silly song by the Buckwheat Boyz called Ice Cream & Cake & Cake - take a look:

 

So, needless to say, when I saw the new release Celebrate Cake from Reverse Confetti - it HAD to be mine! I got the stamps in the mail TODAY and sat right down and got to work!  I created what I believe is the PERFECT card for my crazy camper using the monthly Sketch for You To Try (also from Reverse Confetti) - see for yourself. . .

 

I had to get a little creative with inking up the sentiment since the ampersand and ice cream were connected and ice cream actually has an exclamation point at the end.  I think it worked out perfectly!  Here's a close-up. . .

Believe it or not, the card is already in the mail to her!  Can't wait to hear how much she loves it!

Whimsy & Stars Studio New Release - July 2013 - Together Forever

Good morning friends!  It's that time again!  Time for a new release from Whimsy & Stars Studio!  Today we are releasing a beautiful new image - Together Forever.  Take a look. . .

I think this is such a beautiful image!  Perfect year round for every wedding!  Speaking of weddings, our gorgeous cousin and her handsome fiance' are tying the knot in November.  I decided to work ahead and create this card for the upcoming nuptials. . .

I printed the image and colored it with Copic markers.  I decided to add some glitter to the bottom of the bride's dress for a little flair!  Here is a close-up. . .

I love the simplicity of the image - it's beautiful, yet elegant!  Since I am attaching this card to a gift, I decided to decorate the inside as well. . .

The sentiment is from Verve Stamps and I loved the size because it allowed me plenty of space for a personal note.
