A Deconstructed Hello!

Good morning friends!  Wow! We had quite a storm blow through here last night. . .we lost many branches as well as a full tree in our backyard.  After a dark and stormy night, we need a bright sunshiney day - and why not a card to match?

I started with the Deconstructed Sketch #110 from Jen Shults. . .

And here's my version. . .

I used the Lead The Way Die-Namics from MFT and created a background on the white cardstock card and used the Scalloped Square Spellbinders to create the center square and the four small squares.  I stamped one of the arrow "tails" as well as the sentiment from the Arrows 'n Elements stamp set from Reverse Confetti.  I switched up the center strip panel and placed it as the sentiment on the bottom corner. 

This card just brightens my day!  Hope it brightens yours as well!

Whimsy & Stars Studio New Release - July 2013 - Sweet Arrival

Good morning friends!  Today I am sharing with you with the second of the new releases from Whimsy & Stars Studio!  It's called "Sweet Arrival" and this image is perfect to welcome my brother and sister-in-law's baby #4! 

And here is the card for our precious Isabella Victoria. . .

This image is super friendly for all stages of stampers and artists - you can really color it in detail, or you can keep it simple!  (Which is what I chose this go around).  I printed "Sweet Arrival" on white cardstock and colored it with copics.  I created the shaker using tiny safety pins in pink and white and the pattern paper is from Nana's Nursery Collection by DCWV.  I can't wait to get this in the mail to the new baby!

The Whole Box of Crayons!

If you have been under a rock lately and are not aware of "Stamping Diva" Jen del Muro's new company Reverse Confetti, you are totally missing out!  Very fresh, fun and versatile stamps await you!  I had been itching to use a set from her first release - Dream In Color - and the latest Deconstructed Sketch by yet another "Stamping Diva" named Jen, was the perfect place for it! 

First, the sketch. . .

And here's the result. . .

Now in addition to using Dream in Color, I also used a brand new release from Reverse Confetti - Whole Lotta Dots.  I stamped the large polka dot set in matching ink to each of the chosen cardstock colors to create my own pattern paper.  I used the Chevron Stripes Die-Namics from My Favorite Things to cut the strips.  Here's a close-up. . .

Ice Cream & Cake & Cake!

It's been very lonely around my house the past two weeks.  My DD is off at summer camp and I am missing her like crazy.  Her camp is awesome and I must admit, I am a little jealous of all the fun she is having!  There is a tradition at her camp where all the campers sing this silly song by the Buckwheat Boyz called Ice Cream & Cake & Cake - take a look:

 

So, needless to say, when I saw the new release Celebrate Cake from Reverse Confetti - it HAD to be mine! I got the stamps in the mail TODAY and sat right down and got to work!  I created what I believe is the PERFECT card for my crazy camper using the monthly Sketch for You To Try (also from Reverse Confetti) - see for yourself. . .

 

I had to get a little creative with inking up the sentiment since the ampersand and ice cream were connected and ice cream actually has an exclamation point at the end.  I think it worked out perfectly!  Here's a close-up. . .

Believe it or not, the card is already in the mail to her!  Can't wait to hear how much she loves it!

Whimsy & Stars Studio New Release - July 2013 - Together Forever

Good morning friends!  It's that time again!  Time for a new release from Whimsy & Stars Studio!  Today we are releasing a beautiful new image - Together Forever.  Take a look. . .

I think this is such a beautiful image!  Perfect year round for every wedding!  Speaking of weddings, our gorgeous cousin and her handsome fiance' are tying the knot in November.  I decided to work ahead and create this card for the upcoming nuptials. . .

I printed the image and colored it with Copic markers.  I decided to add some glitter to the bottom of the bride's dress for a little flair!  Here is a close-up. . .

I love the simplicity of the image - it's beautiful, yet elegant!  Since I am attaching this card to a gift, I decided to decorate the inside as well. . .

The sentiment is from Verve Stamps and I loved the size because it allowed me plenty of space for a personal note.

A Day Late - But Not A Flower Short. . .

Howdy friends! It's a glorious day here in Oklahoma.  Typically we are in triple digit temps around these parts in July - but the Lord has blessed us with an amazing day - it's only 81 degrees! Hallelujah! 

I am actually a day late with my post (oh, please dear Mabelle forgive me).  I have had quite a summer so far and as a result have been dealing with some injuries (more on that another time).  Anywho - I do have a darling card to show you which was created with the absolutely precious Whimsy & Stars Studio Thinking of You stamp set.  Take a look. . .

I love this image and I've got her almost dressed up for Independence Day!  Now of course you girls are smart enough to see that I actually borrowed a different sentiment for this card.  The set comes with "Thinking of You" - but I am sending this card to my DD while she is away at camp so I changed it to "Miss You So Much" from Verve. 

I thought it would be fun to mix it up a little a create something that was not the typical 4.25 x 5.5 size - this petite card measures only 3.75 x 4.25.
